William Storm a leading Toronto architect designed
Convocation Hall. Storm fashioned Convocation Hall in the
Romanesque style. He also created the fence surrounding
Osgoode Hall and was responsible for other projects. The
Great Library was another area William Storm designed
with the firm of Cumberland and Storm.
Convocation Hall was based on the medieval dining halls of the
Inns of Court in England. These organizations in England call
people to the Bar. Originally Convocation Hall had multicolored
brick, a beamed ceiling and a huge stained glass window on the
north wall. The arched alcolve depicts its location.
